Company Branding: Do you have a company brand specification sheet?

Today I requested a quote from a new printing company.  They asked me to supply PMS color specs and logo fonts for the printing job .  I realize that big companies spend a lot of time and money coming up with a Company Brand Specification Document….
Do you have one for your company?

What simple version works for you?

Do you have a template that you can share?

You know how I feel about Wal-Mart, however I include a link containing a sample of their lengthy detailed brand image specification from 2011.  It is too detailed for Hamakua Macadamia Nut Co. but it does give me ideas.

Thanks for your help if you have suggestions or templates.

  1. Hi Amy,
What – you’re not ready to write a 101 page brand specification document like Walmart? You’ve got so much extra time now, so I don’t understand why not? ! 🙂

It does look like you could take the primary sections from the Walmart example, though, and replace the details with a simplified version for your company. I would not have though to specify things like fonts and color palletes, but I can see how consistency is useful and I bet you have some creative people in your company now who would love the opportunity to play with some basic ideas and settle on some specific details. (I know you could do it, too, but why not enjoy more of that free time and delegate this to someone else? 😉

I know – that probably doesn’t help, but please let us know what you find or end up producing. This idea sounds like something we could/should apply at my work, as well.
